APPLICATION BRAINSTORM

$50/ Hour and/or EDITING: $25/ Edit

This program is active year-round. We know that the applications can be long and lengthy. Come to this one-on-one session with a professional student in medicine, pharmacy, optometry or law to get some guidance. We work with prospective students on deciding which activities to write about, creating their first draft of the application, and a heavy first edit on their application.

We require every applicant to start with at least one brainstorm session, held virtually over zoom. Any additional edits (made during the consultant’s own time) are priced at $25 per edit. You may request an additional consultant for a second opinion, priced at 25$ per edit.

MULTIPLE MINI INTERVIEW PREP SESSION

The MMI interview can be a daunting experience. As MMIs remain virtual for Canadian medical schools this year, HOPE is offering virtual MMI sessions run by current professional school students from medical students across Canada. During this session, you will go through 6 MMI stations designed to stimulate a real interview setting. You will receive strategies on formulating responses and individualized feedback immediately after the session. The session will be conducted live over zoom and is priced at 10$.

Optometry

Hi! My name is Chloe and I’m currently a 2nd year student at UC Berkeley School of Optometry. I went to UBC for my bachelor’s degree majoring in biology. Towards the tail end of my time at UBC, I began considering optometry as a potential career choice but didn’t take it seriously until I began shadowing in a private practice. Navigating the application portal and writing personal statements was no easy feat, but with the guidance of my mentors I successfully interviewed at UCBSO and SUNY. I greatly appreciated the assistance from my friends and optometry mentors, so feel free to connect with me and ask questions!
