Getting into professional and graduate programs is a multi-year process with standardized exams, applications, course requirements and interviews to navigate. In particular, programs such as medicine, dentistry, optometry, law, and pharmacy have increasing admission grade point averages and high thresholds for extracurriculars and non-academic involvements. Students are often left to their own devices – asking friends and family. It is important to recognize that these individuals are not experts in the admission process nor are they trained mentors or coaches. In contrast, professional consulting agencies offer packages with price points upwards of $5000. Students without connections often resort to this option out of desperation, spending thousands of dollars on interview or application preparation packages. We at HOPE believe that neither of these options are optimal or transparent and that there is a better alternative.
OUR SOLUTION
HOPE for the Future offers a range of services and products aimed at helping students get into their dream programs. These services are priced fairly and offer a competitive edge to existing consulting companies. In line with HOPE’s values, this program will operate on a ‘peer to peer’ basis while ensuring that the pricing also covers a small honorarium to thank our professional consultants for their time. | APPLICATION BRAINSTORM OR EDITING: $50/Hour
We know that the medical school application is long and lengthy. Come to this one-on-one session with an existing medical student or physician to get some guidance. We work with prospective students on deciding which activities to write about, creating their first draft of the application, and a heavy first edit on their application. |
| APPLICATION REVIEW: $50 first person edit, $25 second edit
We know that sometimes it is helpful to have more people look at an application. If you would like more attention on your application, this session is structured as a special two-on-one application review where two of our consultants will read and edit your application. We know that lots of companies charge by the hour which can quickly rack up! This is why with our transparent system, we charge by the edit so you can feel comfortable knowing exactly what you are getting. |

Our service familiarizes you with the Casper exam and offers strategies on formulating responses. During this session, you will go through a mock Casper exam with 4 stations, receive feedback on your responses and learn tips for success. The session runs for about an hour. The summer can be a stressful time for law school applicants. Get yourself caught up to speed to learn about law school requirements across Canada and the US, basic information about the application, and tips and tricks on the personal letter. We bet you this jam-packed session will save you from headache and confusion, not to mention hundreds of wasted hours navigating different websites! This is open to students of all years and application status. |

We offer one-on-one consulting with existing law students and lawyers. We know that the personal letter is key when trying to get into programs. This is our best offer of a personal statement grand bundle which includes general advice and one-on-one personal statement editing from start to finish up to three edits. You can add on as many rounds of a la carte editing as you would like depending on how you feel about your letter. |

Interested in a career in optometry? HOPE for the Future will be running an introductory workshop that will help prospective Optometry students get a foot up when applying to their dream optometry schools. Planning well in advance of application submission is essential to maximizing the chances of a successful application cycle, as there are several complicated components in the optometry application process. This workshop will provide tips and tricks for using the complicated OptomCAS application portal, as well as advise on common mistakes to avoid. We will also discuss admission averages, how to navigate the Canadian and American grade point systems, and advise on prerequisite courses. |
| PERSONAL STATEMENT CONSULTING: $50/hour
Coming up with a compelling personal statement is the crux of the application process. We offer a one-on-one private consulting service where optometry consultants will get to know you and participate in a collaborative brainstorming process to create an attractive personal statement. |
| PERSONAL STATEMENT A LA CARTE EDITING: $25/edit per essay
The process of suggesting improvements and refining the personal statement is lengthy, so additional edits to the personal statement are priced lower to help you get the best outcome possible. It is highly recommended to engage in multiple revisions to refine any details that will add a competitive edge to your application. Consultants are also available to assist with additional essay questions for the same rate. |
