Main goal: to help smooth the transition from high school to post secondary via workshops, guidance, and connection. Our team wanted our first H4S event to help students recognize the uncertainty that comes with the transition from secondary to post-secondary and learn how to navigate it confidently.
The meeting focused on organizing a virtual event featuring Dr. Jessica van de Kemp, who shared her educational journey and provided guidance for youth transitioning to post-secondary education. The discussion covered various aspects of university life, including academic networking, course selection, and balancing personal and academic responsibilities. Our UW Hope Mentors shared their experiences with challenging courses, university living arrangements, and application processes, while emphasizing the importance of building connections and pursuing personal interests.

Main goal: to curate care packages filled with essential items, including non-perishable food, hygiene products, and other basic necessities that support individuals' day-to-day well-being.
Our team organized a bake sale fundraiser in partnership with Sweet Lou's Cookies to help raise funds for our Warmth of Winter initiative. Using these proceeds we planned a day with our exec team to curate care packages (Nov 26). These care packages were donated to oneROOF Youth Services (Nov 28).

Main goal: to educate and support students in developing financial literacy skills through a mentorship event covering budgeting, cost of living as a university student, OSAP applications, financial planning, and effective money management strategies.
By featuring three student speakers, Tarnia, Param and Sara, who led the financial literacy event, participants gained valuable firsthand insights and practical perspectives on topics.

Main goal: our team organized a bake sale fundraiser in partnership with UWHealthcare Symposium and Sweet Lou's Cookies to help raise funds for our Warmth of Winter initiative.
Sold bear key chains as well as cookies which sold out in less than two hours. Using these proceeds we donated to a charity within the waterloo region.
